The Legal Industry Reviews has published the 5th edition of LIR Brazil. Partner Lucas Spadano and associate Bruna Prado, both from the International Trade team, provided insights into trade defense measures, import trends, and tariff increases in Brazil and globally.
They highlighted Brazil’s historic surge in imports in 2024, which has led to a significant rise in requests for trade defense investigations and tariff adjustments. By June, 44 new investigation requests had been filed, already surpassing the total number from 2023, with a strong focus on anti-dumping measures. They also discussed the strategic use of the Common External Tariff exception list as a mechanism to address global economic imbalances, reflecting broader international trends.
